The reproducible activities in "Early Theme Series: Creepy Crawlies" recognize that speaking, listening, reading, writing, and spelling are critical communication skills, and development in any one of these skills is linked to development in the others.

Designed as an eight-week program, each of the main teaching elements of language are covered at least once per week. The program can be used as a series of whole class activities or the class can be divided into five groups and rotated through the five activities during the week.
