Dear Teachers and Parents,

We know you are looking for engaging, meaningful games for children while they’re learning at home. The highly engaging games from the Nimble with Numbers series provide an enjoyable way to spice up student practice sessions.

We’ve selected games that we think focus on concepts that are challenging for students. For primary grades you’ll find games that practice subtraction facts. For grades 3 and above the games reinforce multiplication and division. We’re also including a fun activity – Diffy – that’s fun for all grade levels. Students will learn more AND have fun with these open-ended games!

Since children are at home feel free to substitute beans, bingo chips and pennies for the counters. The included Digit Cards or playing cards can be substituted for number cubes or dice if necessary.

Because mathematical thinking is enhanced when students collaborate, encourage children to play with their families and to verbalize their strategies as they play these games.

We hope these games help your students develop positive feelings toward mathematics as they become more confident and numerically nimble!
