10Story Math Labs are engaging project-based curriculum kits that turn abstract math concepts into hands-on learning. Through real-world scenarios, physical models, collaboration, and discussion, students from elementary through high school build math develop the conceptual understanding, confidence, and algebraic thinking they need for future success.
The Algebra Studio Bundle, including Balance and Slope Labs, supports success in algebra in middle & high school.

In Algebra Studio: Balance Lab, students assemble a physical balance from a K'Nex™ kit, place cups (variables) and cubes (constants) on each side, and work through equations — from one-step through negatives, the distributive property, and equations with variables on both sides. When the balance tips, something's wrong. When it's level, the equation is correct.

Over 14 lessons, students move from physical modeling to mathematical representation to numerical abstraction — understanding what "solving an equation" means concretely before they encounter formal notation on paper.

Mathematical Topics:
• Write & solve equations
• Evaluate expressions
• Distributive property
• Scale drawings
• Data Science

Serves a group of 12 students. Kit includes:
• K'Nex™ balance beam kits
• Equation mats
• Cups (variables) and cubes (constants)
• ZERO OUT game cards
• CARD X game cards
• Equation worksheets and recording sheets
• Balance puzzle challenge sheets
• Exit tickets and assessments

In, Algebra Studio: Slope Lab, students build a Gravity Racer using Circuit Cubes™ kits, roll it down ramps, collect real distance and time data, and make graphs. Then they build a Motor Racer — a vehicle that moves at a fixed rate. Using their data, students work through challenges involving rate, slope, and linear equations.

In about 21 class sessions, students measure and record physical data, organize their data into tables, plot it on coordinate grids, and look for patterns. From there, they calculate unit rate, identify slope in their own graphs, and write equations in y = mx + b form. The progression moves from collecting data with tape measures and stopwatches to representing it on graphs to writing equations that model what they measured.

Mathematical Topics:
• Rate & Unit Rate
• Graphing & Slope
• Write and solve equations
• Rate of Change
• Y-intercept

Serves a group of 12 students. Kit includes:
• Circuit Cubes™ kits (Ramp kits
• Tape measures and stopwatches
• Graphing sheets and data recording forms
• Gear investigation materials
• Grand Prix competition materials
• Equation and prediction sheets

Each lab includes comprehensive teacher supports: preparation and teaching slides, videos, and printables - making it ready-to-teach and learn!

Ideal for core supplementation, intervention, or enrichment in a variety of settings: in class, after-school, STEM lab, summer school, etc.
