Mega Mini Games: Design Game X
Email to a Friend Math Labs by 10Story are engaging project-based curriculum kits that turn abstract math concepts into hands-on learning. Through real-world scenarios, physical models, collaboration, and discussion, students from elementary through high school build math develop the conceptual understanding, confidence, and algebraic thinking they need for future success.
In Mega Mini Games: Design Game X, students play oversized physical fraction games — then design and build their own. They arrange cards on giant game boards, launch marbles down tracks, race ping pong balls along number lines, and ultimately create an original fraction game using connector straws, craft materials, and card templates. The lab culminates in a Game Expo where teams present and play each other's creations.
In about 10 class sessions, students play structured games that build fraction understanding through physical action — handling, placing, comparing, and measuring. And they apply those concepts to build and design a working game.
